Bistro 201

Hey guys,

For those who have not yet been to this famous cafe named Bistro 201 on the top of JS bank on mall road………….Its located on this five story building from where it has a splendid and soothing view of Lahore. The ambiance was good but the food and service was rather disappointing. I must say its a good place to sit and relax with a cup of tea and some snacks but not more than that.I guess the varieties of different cuisines they have infused in the menu has made it difficult for them to maintain the quality of food. Here are some of pictures of the place.

Dont  look at me:P

I was astonished to hear these words from a friend today. His point of view on Salman Taseer’s murder was a bit different from what I have heard recently. He was justifying his death by that fact that he had taken many innocent lives of Pakistani citizens and also that he called the blasphemy laws a ‘kaala kanoon’.

I argued with him for quite a while and I was unable to understand that how can a person say that killing a HUMAN is right.Whatever he did or said i think was wrong and worthy of punishment but how can we be so sure?Who are WE to murder a person on what he did?Isn’t that for Allah to decide because He is the one Who knows EVERYTHING?
When Holy Prophet(PBUH) visited Ta’if to preach Islam, the people of Ta’if threw stones and rocks on him until his feet became clotted to his shoes. It was then that Angel Jibrail came and asked to crush the people of Ta’if between two mountains. But he showed marvelous piece of humanity and said that Allah knows about their fate and prayed for the future generations to accept Islam.
My opinion is the same. Its not for us to decide wether someone lives or dies.If Salman Taseer’s sin exceeds his piety on the Day of Judgement Allah Almighty will punish him.We just have to do what Holy Prophet(PBUH) did after his visit to Ta’if and that is PRAY and pray hard for the future generations of our country that they turn out to be good and God-fearing citizens.
Feel free to comment.

With technology becoming more advanced every day, and even the way we build our vehicles getting better at a rapid rate, it’s no surprise to see some of the designs for what the future of airplanes may look like. NASA issued a request to Boeing, Northrop Gurmman, and Lockheed Martin to design what the airplanes of 2025 may look like, and all of the manufacturers came back with their own take on what the future of flight may look like.

The one you see above is the design that was issued by Lockheed Martin. The second one is from Boeing, with the final design from Northrop Gurmman. All of these new concept pieces utilize the stringent guidelines that NASA issued in the development process. NASA has requested that these planes of the future be able to travel up to 85 percent of the speed of sound, along with being able to cover a range of about 7,000 miles in a single flight.

These aircraft should also be able to carry anywhere between 50,000 and 100,000 pounds of payload, whether that be passengers or cargo. Great ideas on paper, but we’ll have to wait and see if these designs can become a reality by the intended year.

ICC investigating Oval one-dayer

Posted: September 19, 2010 in Uncategorized

The ICC has launched an investigation into the third one-day international between England and Pakistan at The Oval after it received information from a newspaper before the game began alleging that bookies were aware of certain scoring patterns that occurred during the match.

The ICC stated that “a full investigation is warranted”, confirming that the information it received in advance about certain scoring patterns during the game appeared to be correct. The information was passed on to the ICC by The Sun, which said it was based on details of calls between a person based in Dubai and a bookie in Delhi.

The ICC, however, clarified that it was premature to suggest anything untoward had occurred during Pakistan’s 23-run victory on Friday.

“A source informed The Sun newspaper that a certain scoring pattern would emerge during certain stages of the match and, broadly speaking, that information appeared to be correct,” Haroon Lorgat, the ICC chief executive, said.

“We therefore feel it is incumbent upon us to launch a full enquiry into this particular game, although it is worth pointing out at this stage that we are not stating as fact that anything untoward has occurred. Only in the fullness of the investigation can that be established.”

The Pakistan board was unwilling to comment until further details were available, though PCB chairman Ijaz Butt arrived in Dubai on Saturday from Delhi. It isn’t clear whether the chairman was scheduled to fly back to Pakistan via Dubai or whether the latest allegations prompted the trip to the headquarters of the game’s governing body. A meeting with the ICC at some point is likely. “I don’t have any details as of now. We are just trying to gather all the facts right now, ” Butt told ESPNcricinfo.

Shahid Afridi, the Pakistan captain, was also unaware of the report until it was read out to him, but clearly unimpressed, told ESPNcricinfo, “All this is rubbish.”

The development came on the same day that Scotland Yard passed on to prosecutors an initial file of evidence on claims that Pakistan cricketers were involved in spot-fixing. It said evidence that there was a conspiracy to defraud bookmakers will be considered by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).

Three Pakistan players – Salman Butt, Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif – remain suspended by the ICC for their alleged role in the spot-fixing scandal that engulfed the Lord’s Test between Pakistan and England. The players, however, have filed appeals against the suspension.
